Amy Perry, MA, LPCC

Throughout my career in mental health, I have had the pleasure of working with youth, adolescents, and families in a variety of settings including community mental health, schools, and clinics.

I know how hard reaching out for help can be. I also know that mental health issues do not discriminate. We all go through struggles and hard times in our lives. While knowing this to be true, every individual’s experience is 100% unique to them. I believe we all have the ability to heal; the human spirit is incredibly resilient. Sometimes, you may need help to develop tools to cope and make change.  Through my work as a therapist, I have seen that change and feeling better is possible. Therapy provides a place to reflect, heal, and grow.

The core of my approach to therapy is empathy and authenticity.  I know and understand that being vulnerable can be scary.  My work has taught me that vulnerability and mindfulness are two very necessary ingredients for change.  I strive for our sessions to be collaborative, while simultaneously providing a safe place to share and work toward the goals we have set together. I also find that sprinkling in humor is valuable, because sometimes you just have to laugh.
