Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) is an evidence-based therapy approach commonly used to treat anxiety, OCD, intrusive thoughts, phobias, and compulsive behaviors.

Anxiety often convinces us that we need to avoid discomfort, seek reassurance, overprepare, check, research, or perform certain behaviors in order to feel safe or certain. While those behaviors may bring temporary relief, they often end up reinforcing the anxiety cycle and making fear feel even stronger over time.

ERP helps you gradually respond differently to anxiety instead of automatically obeying it. Together, we’ll work on building tolerance for uncertainty, reducing compulsive behaviors and reassurance-seeking, and helping you feel less controlled by fear and “what if” thinking.
